Vocational Training
for Landmine Survivors Cambodia has one of the highest percentages of disabled people of all the countries in the one out of every 236 people is an amputee. Most of the landmine survivors cannot support themselves, because they can no longer farm (85% of Cambodians are farmers). Friendship with Cambodia is supporting a vocational training program in Cambodia that offers vocational training in small engine repair (motorbikes are the main mode of transportation in Cambodia), appliance repair and sewing. Graduates receive help in starting their own businesses. |
